This article contains beta and unused content in Def Jam Fight For NY. Before the launch, there were features that never made it to the final release, such as alternate stages settings, removed voiced messages and unused songs.
Cut Fighters[]
Character | Notes | Image(s) |
---|---|---|
Kurupt | Kurupt's name is found in text in the Alpha Build when selecting Slick Rick. This could mean that the artist, Kurupt, was originally considered for the game, but Slick Rick replaced him. It's possible that Kurupt would've been a representative for D-Mob and would defend The Chopshop from Hero during Act 3 due to the venue not being revisited in the final product. | |
S-Word | S-word was to make a return in Fight For Ny. These images are found in the Alpha Build. It's unknown if he was intended to be a Japan release exclusive. It's possible that S-Word was planned to be a representative for Crow at the Dragon House due to the venue lacking a proper Club Boss during Hero's first visit. | |
LL Cool J | LL Cool J was planned to make an appearance in Fight For Ny. His character select placeholder image was found in the alpha build. This should explain his song "Mama Said Knock You Out" being featured in the soundtrack. Due to Flava Flav switching over to D-Mob's Crew, it's possible that LL Cool J was originally planned to be the representative for D-Mob at the The Terrordome, but instead Flava Flav was chosen and LL Cool J was removed. | |
DMX | DMX was planned to make a return in Fight For Ny. This is his placeholder image. Since Hunts Point Scrapyard was a successor to The Junkyard, DMX was most likely the defender of the venue for D-Mob. Teck could've been used as a stand in for DMX with the same stats that DMX would've had. | |
Kelis | The artist, Kelis, was planned to make an appearance in Fight For Ny. Kelis, like others females in the game, was most likely an option as a girlfriend during story mode. She would've been the eighth female fighter in the game had she been included. |
